Symantec has confirmed delay in the launching of its Configuration Wizard in limited OEM Norton Internet Security layouts on systems running windows vista. Configuration Wizard for Limited OEM Norton Internet Security (NIS) versions 2007 and 2008 are triggered by a System reboot. Windows vista often suspends the System and therefore extends the possibility that the user may not reboot for a long period of time.
Additionally, this delay may also delay the subscription and liveupdate features of NIS. Therefore, if the Configuration Wizard process is not completed, the user stays unprotected from a security perspective and are exposed to threats that could lead to data corruption, identity theft, or degradation in system performance.
