This file describes the procedure for updating Wireless LAN driver and utility
software(Intel PROSet) to version 9.0.3.
Precaution
Before updating the driver‚ you should
¨C Logon with administrative user.
¨C (Windows XP) not use Fast User Switching.
¨C Connect AC Adaptor and fully charged battery.
¨C Disconnect networks (wired and wireless).
¨C Disconnect USB equipments and PC cards.
¨C Disconnect MODEM cable and LAN cable.
¨C Terminate all programs Other than the update program.
¨C Terminate virus protection program and alike.
Preparation
1. Confirm the version of Wireless LAN driver
(1) Click start¨CControl Panel¨CPerformance and Maintenance¨CSystem
¨CHardware¨CDevice Manager.
(2) Double click NETWORK adapters‚ and double click IntelR PRO/Wireless
2200bg Network Connection or IntelR PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network
Connection.
(3) Select Driver tab‚ and check Driver Version.
If it is displayed as ¡å9.0.3.9¡å‚ the driver has already updated.
2. Extract the new driver files.
(1) Execute the program named wlan_d051021.exe.
(2) Read the ¡åLicense Agreement¡å‚ and click Yes.
(3) Confirm the destination folder (default folder is c:util2driverswlan)‚
and click OK.
(4) Wait about 30 seconds until files are extracted.
The folder will be automatically opened on completion.
Update
You should follow the proper procedures according to the current driver
version.
A When the current version is 8.x.x.x.
B When the current version is 9.x.x.x.

Update procedure is as follows.
(1) If you use Windows 2000‚ export current profiles.
(2) Execute update program.
(3) If you exported profiles in (1)‚ import those profiles.

¨C Select Network tab in ¡åIntelR PROSet for Wireless¡å‚ and click Advanced.
¨C Click Import/Export in ¡åSystem Wide Options¡å.
¨C Select profile and confirm destination folder‚ and click Export.
¨C When ¡åProfile exported successfully.¡å message is displayed‚ click OK.
¨C Repeat for each profiles.
(2) Update driver and utility software (Intel PROSet)
¨C Open the folder in which update files are extracted (default:
c:utils2driverswlan).
¨C Open the ¡åproset¡å folder.
¨C Double click ¡åsetup.bat¡å.
¨C Click Install Software in ¡åIntelR PROSet/Wireless Installer¡å.
¨C Read ¡åINTEL SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT¡å and check ¡åI Accept the ¡¡å‚
and click Next.
¨C Click Next with ¡åTypical¡å selected.
¨C Click OK in ¡åInstall default components?¡å message.
¨C Driver and utility software (Intel PROSet) are updated.
Wait for several minutes.
¨C When update was completed‚ ¡åInstallation complete.¡å message
is displayed. Click Ok.
¨C When ¡åSystem reboot¡å message is displayed‚ click Yes to reboot.
¨C Confirm the version of driver is ¡å9.0.3.9¡å.
(3) Import profiles
Every user who exported profiles in step (1) should operate this step.
¨C Click Start¨CPrograms¨CIntel PROSet Wireless¨CIntel PROSet Wireless.
¨C Select Profiles¨CImport/Export in menus.
¨C Click Import.
¨C Open the folder in which export files are stored in step(1).
¨C Select saved profile and click Import.
¨C When ¡åSuccessfully imported selected Profiles.¡å message is displayed‚
click OK.
¨C Repeat for each profiles.
B When the current version is 9.x.x.x.
(1) Update driver and utility software (Intel PROSet)
¨C Open the folder in which update files are extracted (default:
c:utils2driverswlan).
¨C Open the ¡åproset¡å folder.
¨C Double click ¡åsetup.bat¡å.
¨C ¡åDo you wish to update this software with a newer version?¡å message is
displayed‚ click Yes.
¨C Wait for several minutes until older version was deleted.
¨C Click Install Software in ¡åIntelR PROSet/Wireless Installer¡å.
¨C Click Next with ¡åModify¡å selected.
¨C Click Modify.
¨C Driver and utility software (Intel PROSet) are updated.
Wait for several minutes.
¨C When update was completed‚ ¡åComponent modification complete.¡å message
is displayed. Click Ok.
¨C When ¡åsystem reboot¡å message is displayed‚ click Yes to reboot.

- Removable Disk(D:) may not be appear at Start-My Computer.
- Blue Screen occurs when you insert the SD Memory Card or Multimedia Card.
- After blue screen occurs‚ if you eject the card‚ windows restarts but stops at Windows Logo window. Reinstall SD Driver if this issue occurred.
1) Eject SD card from the SD card slot‚ and reboot Windows.
2) Select start-Control Panel-Performance and Maintenance-System-Hardware-Device Manager.
3) Double-click Disk drives and check that there is not listed SD or MultiMedia Card.
*) If there is SD or MultiMedia Card‚ the following procedure is not required.
4) Double-click System devices branch to expand it‚ right-click Ricoh SD Bus Host Adapter‚ and select Uninstall.
5) Click OK to confirm.
6) Select Action-Scan for hardware changes.
Then the computer detects the new Device and install the driver.
7) Select Yes when displayed ¡åDo you want to restart your computer now?¡å
8) After restart windows‚ select start-My Computer and check Removable Disk is listed.
*) CF-R1 series may not be able to detect SD memory card or Multimedia card instead of Blue Screen.
If this issue occurs‚ perform (4)‚ (6)‚ (7) and (8) of the above-mentioned procedure.
At that time‚ the Display position of Ricoh SD Bus Host Adapter may differ.
